During my first visit to the art galleries at CSULB, I chose the painting above to write about. The artist’s name is Maria Rendon. The canvas was huge compared to many other pieces of art in the galleries. When i look at it, I can’t help but think of the image looking like a heart. Perhaps that was Maria’s intention, perhaps not. I also imagine the yellow and brown spots of the painting as symbolizing the effects of doing harm to your body, such as smoking. I thought that Maria Rendon’s art was very interesting to look at and interpret and i hope to see more pieces from her soon.
